STEM Access Changes Everything
At The Gaskins Foundation, we believe STEM should be accessible, joyful, and rooted in community.
Through family-centered programming, mentorship, and culturally responsive learning experiences, we help young people see themselves in STEM and build pathways that extend far beyond a single workshop or event.
The Challenge We’re Addressing
Too many children, especially girls and students from historically underrepresented communities, experience STEM as something distant, intimidating, or unavailable.
Families want to support their children’s curiosity, but access to:
Hands-on STEM learning
Visible role models
Consistent opportunities
Supportive pathway
How We Do This Differently
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all programs or one-time experiences.
Our work is built on:
Family engagement — parents and caregivers are partners
Community-based spaces — learning happens where trust already exists
Culturally responsive STEM — relevant, affirming, and inclusive
Sustained exposure — opportunities that grow with students
This approach allows us to support not just students, but entire ecosystems of learning.

What We’re Seeing

Increased STEM confidence and curiosity

Strong community and institutional partnerships
Sustained participation over time
This work is not about quick wins.
It’s about long-term change and generational impact.
